Despite his arm in a sling, Sting delivers in Orléans...
In front of 6,700 spectators at the Zénith d'Orléans this Saturday, October 19th, Sting, injured after a bad fall, performed for nearly two hours in front of a captivated audience.
"I'd like to tell you a story..." Dressed entirely in black, a long coat over his shoulders, Sting steps to the centre of the stage. It's just 9:00 PM. "But first, let me explain this," he begins, showing his arm in a sling. The singer, injured in a fall, had to find someone to replace him on bass. "But it doesn't matter, I can sing. The show must go on..."
For nearly two hours, Sting takes the 6,700 spectators at the Zenith back to where it all began: 1976, in a small hotel near the Saint-Lazare train station in Paris... Roxanne was born. And here are forty years of cult songs, sometimes revisited in reggae and jazz styles, that transport the audience. Twenty songs, including eleven by The Police, a magnificent lighting design, impeccable vocals, and top-notch musicians - it's all there. Simple, beautiful, and necessary.
